The Mipa 2K HS Carbonic Clearcoat is a high-quality acrylic clearcoat developed specifically for the colourless coating of synthetic fibre substrates such as glass or carbon fibre composites (exposed carbon). Thanks to its high filling power and insensitivity to solvent popping, risk-free application is possible even at high film thicknesses. Its high UV protection effectively protects substrates prone to yellowing – including carbon – from weather-induced discolouration. Coverage: approx. 7–8 m²/l (at 80 µm dry film thickness).

- Fast drying: sandable and polishable after 15 min at 60 °C (with HS 25)
- Can be combined with Mipa P 67 S (clear filler) and Mipa P 27 (colourless body filling)

Areas of application
For the perfect exposed-carbon look: clean the substrate with silicone remover and sand it with P 240–400, then, depending on the weave structure, apply a clearcoat filling layer with intermediate sanding and a flowing top layer – for a piano-lacquer look also 4–6 layers with final polishing (P 800 to P 3000). If adhesion is in doubt, carry out a test application beforehand and use Mipa 1K Adhesion Promoter if necessary. The matching 2K HS hardeners are also available in our shop.

Dispatch

Aerosol cans, hardeners and certain solvents are classified as dangerous goods in limited quantities (LQ) under ADR. Dangerous goods handling is already included in standard shipping — no additional surcharge at checkout.
