The Mipa 1K Isolator is a fast-drying special primer that effectively protects solvent-sensitive old coatings – e.g. thermoplastic old paintwork or alkyd resin coatings – against lifting and bleed-through when overcoating with solvent-based paint systems. Coverage: approx. 8,5–14 m²/l.
Properties
- Reliably isolates critical old paintwork against lifting and bleed-through

- Can be reworked wet-on-wet with Mipa 1K and 2K primers or topcoats
- Adjusted ready to spray, no hardener required

Areas of application
Indispensable when refinishing older vehicles with an unknown or sensitive paint build-up: clean the old coating with Mipa Silicone Remover, remove all wax and polish residues completely, wet-sand with P 400–500 and degrease again. Apply the Isolator in 1–2 spray coats and rework wet-on-wet with primer or topcoat after approx. 1 hour. The matching silicone remover is also available in our shop.

Dispatch

Aerosol cans, hardeners and certain solvents are classified as dangerous goods in limited quantities (LQ) under ADR. Dangerous goods handling is already included in standard shipping — no additional surcharge at checkout.
